Human beings stand out on the back of many different things, but if we are being honest, none really stack up to our tendency of growing on a consistent basis. You see, when an individual is growing under all possible situations, they eventually hit upon some huge milestones along the way. This is proven by everything we have achieved so far, with one significant piece of testimony coming from an unprecedented idea called technology. Technology, as a milestone, was always a bit anomalous, and mind you, we are not saying it just because of its unique skill-set. Instead, our claim is also predicated upon the manner in which it used those skills to impact our entire spectrum. Such an expansive dynamic naturally created a host of beneficiaries, but what it did around our healthcare sector, in particular, remains a cut above the rest. In fact, technology’s linkup with healthcare couldn’t have come at a better time, considering how badly the sector was struggling against an obsolete structure. Nevertheless, even after shaking up that reality, the medtech concept will continue to raise the bar in every imaginable regard. This trend is now only expected to get stronger following a recent funding.
Brightline, a Paolo Alto-based company, has successfully secured over $10 million in latest funding. An extension to the company’s $105 million Series C round, the investment was entirely bankrolled by Northwell Health, the largest health system in New York state. According to certain reports, Brightline will use the newly-raised cash to upgrade its telehealth platform, while also pursuing a strategic partnership in which Northwell’s patients will receive in-network care on its platform. The latter, from a granular standpoint, should provide an expanded access to pediatric mental health services across the New York Metro area. Since getting off the mark in 2019, Brightline has used a cutting-edge telehealth platform to help parents in connecting with pediatric therapists, psychiatrists, behavioral specialists, and speech-language pathologists. However, that barely covers the whole picture. Brightline’s platform ensures that every child is receiving care as per their needs. This element is satisfied through an extensive questionnaire and a dedicated care management coach. Apart from it, the platform also offers additional resources in the form of digital modules that touch upon some unique facets, including anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, speech delays, gender exploration and autism.
“Pediatric behavioral health has been declared a national crisis and the demand for services is experienced across the healthcare landscape,” said Dr. Victor Fornari, Vice Chair & Director of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry at Northwell Health. “At Northwell, demand for services has been immense and we look forward to collaborating with the Brightline team as they broaden access to services using technology, virtual care and education.”
