The human arsenal is known for many different things, but most importantly, it is known for getting better on a consistent basis. This ever-improving tendency of ours has allowed us to hit upon some huge milestones, with technology appearing as a major member of the stated squad. The reason why we hold technology in such a high regard is because of its skill-set, which ushered us towards all the possibilities that we couldn’t have imagined otherwise. Nevertheless, if we take up a closer look, it will become clear how the whole runner was also very much inspired by the way we applied those skills across a real-world environment. The latter component was, in fact, what gave the creation a spectrum-wide presence, including a timely appearance on our healthcare block. Technology’s foray into healthcare was perfectly-timed as it came right when the sector was beginning to struggle against its own obsolete structure. This reality, fortunately enough, went through a complete overhaul under the new regime, but even after going so far, the emerging medtech concept will somehow continue bringing all the right goods to the table. The same has only turned more and more evident over the recent past, and truth be told, a newly-launched platform can make that trend a lot bigger and better moving forward.
An year on from the merger between Headspace and Ginger, the resulting Headspace Health has officially launched a platform which combines both the companies’ strengths so to deliver a comprehensive mental healthcare experience. According to certain reports, the product masterfully puts Headspace’s meditation and mindfulness services alongside Ginger’s coaching, therapy and psychiatry services. By doing so, it creates a one-stop solution for our many mental health-related questions, but how does the whole thing work in a more actionable sense? Well, you start with an online onboarding survey that asks for your goals in life, as well as all your challenges. Once responses from this survey are collected, the platform uses them to prepare a personalized care plan for every single user. Notably enough, you can also, during the course of your journey, access these special check-ins and mental health assessments that are designed to help you in terms of tweaking your care plan as per your evolving needs.
“[Members receive a] personalized experience from day one: one front door, one unified onboarding with a singular destination that can really provide them with lifelong mental well-being and mental health support,” said Leslie Witt, chief product and design officer of Headspace Health.
Talk about what’s the target audience here, this platform is mainly conceived to serve employers from different industries. It won’t just assist companies in catering to their workforce’s mental health needs, but it will also let them gain extensive insights on critical elements like employee engagement and outcomes. Beyond employees, though, Headspace’s latest brainchild is well-equipped to serve a business’s customer base as well.
Make no mistake, there are many other companies, including Spring Health, Calm, and others, that remain focused on championing mental health across different frontiers, but Headspace claims it makes the process a lot more convenient than what its competitors have been able to offer.
“There are a bevy of solutions that exist both in the behavioral health benefits landscape as well as beyond,” Witt said. “That level of fragmentation of services often looks like a bureaucratic management burden for employers … So we have single procurement, single implementation, single eligibility and authentication.”
In order to ensure optimal performance on the platform’s part, Headspace has hired third-party researchers, who’ll study the product’s impact, and they’ll also assess company’s wider impact on various mental health components like stress reduction, anxiety reduction, and symptoms of clinical depression.
Now a unified $3 billion company, Headspace Health’s excellence is validated by a clientele of more than 3,700 employer customers, which covers industry giants such as Starbucks, Adobe, Delta Air Lines, and plenty others.
