Constructing a Convenient Healthcare Experience

Human beings are known for a myriad of different things, but most importantly, they are known for getting better on a consistent basis. This tendency to improve under all circumstances has already fetched us some huge milestones, with technology appearing as a major member of the stated group. The main reason why technology enjoys such an esteemed stature among people is down to its skill-set, which was unprecedented enough to guide us towards a reality that we couldn’t have imagined otherwise. Nevertheless, a closer look should reveal how the whole runner was also very much inspired by the way we applied those skills across a real-world environment. The latter component was, in fact, what gave the creation a spectrum-wide presence, including a timely appearance on our healthcare block. Technology’s foray into healthcare was so perfect with its timing, as it came right when the sector was beginning to struggle against its own obsolete structure. This reality, fortunately for us, went through a complete overhaul under the new regime, but even after achieving such a monumental feat, the new and budding medtech concept will somehow continue to produce all the right goods. The same, if anything, has turned more and more evident over the recent past, and truth be told, a newly-formed partnership does a lot to make that trend bigger and better moving forward.

Poplin, a New York-based company providing pre-pregnancy tests for couples, has officially teamed up with Getlabs to not only reach a wider customer base but to also package a certain amount of convenience alongside its product. But why did it particularly pick Getlabs? Well, as a nationwide leader for at-home diagnostic collections, Getlabs is currently able to reach more than 55% of American households, therefore allowing Poplin’s customers to carry out the relevant tests right from the comfort of their home. Talk about how the partnership will shake out from a more practical standpoint, couples who are planning to conceive must visit Poplin’s website where they’ll find a pair of tests, with one dedicated to women and the other designed for men. Once they have made their purchase, they can schedule an appointment through Getlabs, and a full-time phlebotomist from the company will come to the couple’s home to draw their blood. Next up, Getlabs will drop the sample off at Quest Diagnostics, Poplin’s lab partner, to process the test. That is pretty much the last step, as the customers will receive their report in the following three to five days. The stated report will bring an extensive lowdown on many different aspects, including blood type, immune status, hormone status, metabolic status, nutrient status, and more. However, just the report is not enough, hence you can also consult one of Poplin’s experts to go over your results and receive tailored recommendations for improving your overall health.

“The really cool thing I think about this process is allowing couples to test together at home,” said Alexandria DeVito, founder and CEO of Poplin. “It otherwise wouldn’t be possible without Getlabs … One of the things we’re really trying to change is the paradigm around fertility. Biology does not care about our cultural construct; fertility has historically been a female problem. I think this provides the opportunity for us to not only test both couples, but to provide a way to do it in a convenient, fairly intimate format with your partner.”

Bearing a base price of $149 each, Poplin’s tests, notably enough, are even available for those couples who have already initiated the process of trying to conceive.
