Looking into the Depths

It’s really fascinating that human life is less about experiences and more about our perception of those experiences. This idea of different human beings having their own exclusive view not helps us to a unique individual personality but it also plays a big role in the formation of our collective approach as a society. You see, we use our distinctive perspective to study various facets of a situation, and on the back of some cutting and chopping, we are able to average out our stance, which is likely to be far more refined than it would have been in any other scenario. Now, it certainly looks like a nice collaborative setup, but it does have a fair share of shortcomings. For instance, if we are constantly relying on middling our opinion to take decisions for the entire world, we get prone to losing out on a reality that falls somewhat out of the usual mould. It’s exactly why we nearly missed out on technology. While technology’s unprecedented nature has been pretty much a selling point for it all along, the same thing also pushed people away at first. The sense of confidence was starkly lacking. Fortunately, the few preachers of the creation held on it with all their might, eventually enabling us to have another look at it. Upon a closer look this time, we were able to see through technology’s transformational attributes. Thus, a tech revolution began. So far, many industries have gone all in on the creation, but none have reaped benefits as important as the healthcare sector did. The sector currently stands in a position from where it can achieve literally anything, and by using that momentum; it has now landed on a whole new milestone.

Caretaker Medical, a company based in Virginia, is all set to launch its cutting-edge VitalStream wireless patient monitoring system following a recent approval from the FDA. VitalStream is essentially designed to replace traditional blood pressure cuffs, and its bid to do so includes more extensive data at the heart of everything. The traditional blood pressure cuffs, which were brought in as an alternative to other invasive methods, have so far failed in providing an adequate amount of information. With limited data in play, it gets harder to decide the right treatment; therefore VitalStream’s skill-set could very well prove to be a major breakthrough here. According to the details shared by Caretaker Medical, the device is well-equipped to measure factors like blood pressure, ECG, SpO2, body temperature, and ETCO2.

“With VitalStream, patients are untethered from clunky cuffs, wires, and poles; clinicians enjoy automated workflow and continuous data for improved decision-making; and health systems can lower costs while improving care,” says Jeff Pompeo, President and CEO of Caretaker Medical.

Furthermore, VitalStream is extremely easy to set up. Supposed to be worn around your wrist along with a disposable finger sensor, the device offers a mix of ease and efficiency that has never been witnessed before in this regard. You can even take the device home to fulfill any requirement of additional monitoring, as the entire collected data will be accessible through an app, cloud or it can also be looped into hospital’s computer systems.
