The human arsenal might be expansive beyond all known limits, but truth be told, it still doesn’t have anything more valuable than our tendency to grow on a consistent basis. This tendency, in particular, has allowed us to hit upon some huge milestones, with technology appearing as a major member of the stated squad. The reason why technology enjoys such an esteemed stature among people is largely down to its skill-set, which was unique enough to guide us towards a reality that we couldn’t have imagined otherwise. Nevertheless, if we look beyond the surface for a second, it will become clear how the whole runner was also very much inspired by the way we applied those skills across a real-world environment. The latter component was, in fact, what gave the creation a spectrum-wide presence, including a timely appearance on our healthcare block. Technology’s foray into healthcare was so perfectly-timed, as it came right when the sector was beginning to struggle against its own obsolete structure. Fortunately for us, this reality went through a complete overhaul under the new regime, but even after achieving such a monumental feat, the emerging medtech concept will somehow continue bringing all the right goods to the table. This has turned a lot more evident over the recent past, and a new funding does everything to keep the trend alive and kicking.
Midi Health, a virtual care clinic making expert care accessible and affordable for all women experiencing the hormonal changes of midlife, has successfully secured over $14 million in seed financing. Led by Felicis and SemperVirens, the round saw further participation coming from the likes of Emerson Collective, Icon Ventures, Operator Collective, Muse Capital, Steel Sky Ventures and Anne, and Susan Wojcicki. According to certain reports, the company will use the newly-raised cash to expand operations nationwide, while also hiring additional staff to support that expansion. Apart from it, it will dedicate a chunk of the money towards launching partnerships with some of the largest hospital systems in the country, as well as major U.S. employers. Founded in 2021, Midi Health’s services are purposed around working alongside employers and health systems to provide insurance-covered virtual care for women experiencing midlife hormonal transition, sleep-related issues , brain fog, depression, anxiety, painful sex, period problems, and more.
When asked for a comment on the investment, Victoria Treyger, General Partner at Felicis, said:
“Healthcare for women aged 40+ is one of the largest segments of healthcare that has not been transformed by digital health. The power of Midi’s B2B2C model is that by partnering with health systems and employers, Midi can reach tens of thousands of women at scale in rural and urban geographies. We are thrilled to back the Midi team as they expand access to healthcare for women in mid-life,”
Now, although there are many other companies, such as Gennev, Evernow, and Alloy, that are providing a similar brand of care for menopause, Midi Health remains the only company which offers insurance-covered care, with the providers like Aetna, Cigna and UnitedHealthcare, among others, recognizing its services.
